Our Groomin’ Crew

Hi, my name is Jacob Robertson. I have been working with animals, my whole life from snakes to dogs to horses and cows. Animals have always been my passion. I work with dogs all during the day grooming and spend my leisure time training my working dogs at home. Cam Watkins introduced me into the grooming industry. She is the founder of California Groomin' and my friend, business advisor and grooming coach. I have been in the grooming industry for over four years now I am the owner of California Grooming for over a year. I love this job and I love the groomers who work alongside me. We have a great team here and we would love to give you our services and be a part of your pups life. Hope to see you and your pups in our shop soon!

We would like to introduce you to Cam Watkins. Cam was the founder of California Groomin’ and, after a wrist surgery and recovery she has come back to groom for us! Cam has not only been an animal lover her whole life but has worked in the pet field in one way or another throughout her adulthood. She started by being a veterinary technician in high school at a small animal practice in Salinas. She then obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health Science from the University of Arizona, graduating in 1989. When she came home to California she started working at Stonepine Equestrian Estate as a trail guide, giving riding lessons and working with horses in the guest and television industry. After starting several successful businesses her interest returned to veterinary work and she began working for Steinbeck Large Animal Veterinary Clinic. Realizing she missed having her own business she decided to get certified in grooming and completed the Animal Behavioral College course in grooming along with it’s 100 hour externship to become a certified groomer. She began small, grooming out of her house until a suitable shop space opened up in the Toro Park Shopping Center and California Groomin’ was born. After a wrist injury caused her to stop grooming she sold the shop to one of her groomers, Jake, who is the current owner. Luckily, after a corrective surgery and successful recovery Cam is able to come back to grooming!

Hi! My name is Maggie, and I'd love to be your pups groomer! I've worked with livestock my whole life, and my love for animals led me to dog grooming industry. I value building strong, personal relationships with my clients, and understand your dog is more than a pet, but more like family! I spend most of my free time with my animals, I'm a proud owner of 6 chickens, 1 BIG pig, cat, and my 13 year old chocolate lab. I'm looking forward to meeting you all here at California Groomin'!

Hello, my name is Kory, I have been an avid animal lover all my life. When Jake introduced me to grooming, in the summer of 2021, I knew it was meant to be. I started out as a bather here at California Groomin' and Jake taught me how to groom along the way. I have been a groomer since December 2021. Over the last 3 years I have truly loved getting to know all of the dogs unique personality and their amazing owners. When I am not getting my creative oulet at work I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 2 little girls, riding my horse, and goring to barrel races.

Hi my name is BreAnn, I have been a groomer for 4 years now. I have loved animals since I could remember and I’ve always wanted to do something that allows me to work with animals and is one of the reasons I became a groomer. Aside from grooming I also work in vet tech because I love learning about animals and how I am able to help them aside from grooming. A few things I do outside of the animal space would be reading, traveling, hiking and spending time with my daughter and husband.

Hello, My name is Alyssa. I have been trained by both owners of California Groomin, current Jake and past Cam. I've always had a passion for animals and have shared that love for them with my children. Being part of the team has been so special and educational. When I'm not grooming, I'm with my kiddos and our farm animals or running barrels somewhere with some of the groomin' crew and my kids as well. I look forward to meeting more fur babes and giving them the care and groom they deserve.
